Seasonal OrganizationšŸƒšŸ‚šŸŽƒšŸŒ¼

Updated: Dec 1, 2020

Who does seasonal organization?! Yesterday I decided to tackle our mudroom. I tend to do seasonal organization with the spaces that get ahead of me each season i.e. our mudroom, play spaces, cabinets and drawers and closets and boy does it feel good after to have a space feeling refreshed, looking organized and neat and letā€™s not forget functionable. Spaces in the home like these tend to not serve their purpose or function when too cluttered or messy. I donā€™t claim to be an expert but I do like to be able to share with you what works for me in hopes that maybe it will work for you. I start with asking myself what is the purpose of this space and what is its function? Is it serving itā€™s purpose? If not, what can I do to put purpose back into this space. When it comes to our mudroom, itā€™s the first place our family comes into the home and drops everything ie. shoes, jackets, gloves, hats, mittens, bags you name it! I started with weeding out the items that were not seasonably appropriate; ie. sandals, summer coats and sweatshirts, etc. This created room on the hooks and in the cubbies for items that were seasonably appropriate. I also purged anything that didnā€™t fit or put it away ie. shoes and jackets that no longer fit Lyla that Saylor Will eventually fit into. At last, I put finishing touches with some seasonably appropriate Halloween Decor. Hope you guys find this somewhat helpful and inspiring to maybe clean out your own mudroom and/or closet space. Please see the below photos of before and after and of course the process.
