On Saturday, May 29th our family got together for the official rainbow cutting and opening of “Rainbow Railroad.” It was an emotional, long day for us but a happy one and one that I will remember and cherish forever. It was a day I know in my heart we made our boy proud and one of our biggest accomplishments and donations made thus far by the Bryce Memorial Foundation.
Despite the weather not cooperating, my family came together, pulled through and made it happen. I made a speech, we cut the ribbon, popped some champagne and toasted to the start of a beautiful journey that Rainbow Railroad will take to keep our son’s memorial live for many years to come and for all to enjoy. It was such a special do’s for our family and friends one we all pulled together and worked so hard for to make happen.
We want to say a special thank you to all our family, friends, neighbors and all other community who have helped make it happen for us and without you, it would have not have been possible. Also a very special thank you to our neighbors Tommy & Val Forte and Forte Landscaping who have helped us and guided us every step of the way to make Rainbow Railroad a reality.
Bryce always loved trains. Oak Grove Playground was the very first playground we took him too and a favorite of his. It’s perfectly fitting that the structure has both a rainbow symbolic of the signs he continues to show us and an American Flag as he was born on Flag Day. The bongos on the side were just perfect and very fitting as he loved to play with his drum set and would often bang on it for what seemed like hours. As for the slide piece. Bryce always loved using the slides at Oak Grove playground and we can remember vividly him braving each one for the very first time. He often liked to go down with one of us but we’ll never forget that day and the expression on his face when he went down all by himself. We were so very proud of our boy. Bryce, we hope we can now make you proud! This is just another one of the many projects we will donate in your honor and we hope to take part in many more donations and projects in years to come.
Let’s celebrate you, Bryce! We will continue to honor and love you forever and always! Keep painting those vibrant rainbows in our beautiful skies! Let’s get this train a choo chooing for all to enjoy. Cheers to the start of Rainbow Rail Road’s Journey, a journey that will carry on the same love, light, hope and happiness you show us with each rainbow and the beautiful life you lived.
